In the second quarter of 2022, the top 5 reference apps in the United Arab Emirates exhibited varied performance trends in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Translate maintained a consistent presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 21K and 26K. The app saw a peak in downloads in the week of May 30, reaching approximately 25.8K. Active users started the quarter at around 1.68M, slightly fluctuating but ending strong at approximately 1.76M by the end of June.

Quran Majeed – القران الكريم experienced a notable spike in weekly downloads at the start of April, reaching over 42K. This was followed by a significant drop, stabilizing around 3K to 4K towards the end of the quarter. Weekly revenue peaked at $1.8K in late April but saw a decline, ending June with approximately $227. The app's active users saw a decrease from 104K at the beginning of the quarter to around 81K by mid-April, with a slight recovery to about 81K by the end of June.

Muslim Pro: Quran Athan Prayer showed a varied trend in weekly downloads, starting strong at 30.5K in late March and dropping to around 5K by the end of June. Revenue saw a peak of $1.9K in late April, gradually declining to around $465 by the end of the quarter. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting at 159K and ending at approximately 125K.

Athkar - أذكار had steady weekly downloads, ranging from 1K to 4.5K. Revenue peaked at $990 in the last week of June, showing a consistent performance throughout the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at around 45K and ending slightly higher at approximately 46K.

Muslim: Azan, Qibla, Al Quran saw a sharp decline in weekly downloads from 32K at the end of March to around 1.4K by the end of June. Revenue fluctuated, peaking at $1.5K in late March and stabilizing around $836 by the end of the quarter. Active users saw a decline from 66K at the start of the quarter to approximately 24.7K by the end of June.
